Meditations for a Peaceful Mind

Fridays 6-7:30pm

This class is led by Gen Kelsang Tilopa, a fully ordained western Buddhist monk. Each class begins with a simple meditation, followed by a talk on basic Buddhist view and its relevance for successful living in a modern world. The class concludes with questions and discussion and a meditation related to the evening's topic.

If Love Conquers All, What is Love? Who should I love? How should I love? Why should I love? When should I love? How much should I love? Obstacles to love: anger, jealousy, pride, attachment. Meditations on love.  
 
March 21-28 Exploring Relationships II. 
Self & Other: How should I behave towards others? What and how should I give to others? How should I react to harm and difficulty from others?  
 
Apr 4-18 Dealing with Anger.  
The costs and disadvantages of anger. The benefits & practice of patience. Using wisdom and compassion to overcome anger. Living free from anger. 
 
May 2-16 Faith, Freedom and Spirituality. 
The nature and good qualities of faith. Faith in what? How to develop faith. How faith leads to freedom and peace.  
 
May 30 & Jun 13 Practical Advice for Successful Living.
